** Waxwings In Snodland.**

On our way home from Ashford today Pam, and I took a slight detour via Snodland, just in case the Waxwings was showing. The place we stopped at was on the corner of St Benedicts Rd to check out the large berry bush. We sat and waited for about 10 minutes, and a few birds flew in, about 4 waxwings. They settled on the top of the bush, then when a few cars turned into the road they flew off, they seemed quite skittish today. Where the road is situated I thought this was a quiet area, was I wrong, being a Sunday  it was like Piccadilly Station, cars, vans dog walkers youngsters going by. Talking of dog walkers, while I was waiting there this guy wearing a brimmed hat came up the road towards me.I looked at him, then I looked at the dog, and thought what a strange looking critter.... not the dog, the guy. No I am just kidding, it was Alan  of http://snodlandblogspotcom.blogspot.com/. He came over and we started to have a chat, when the Waxwings came back, about 8 of them in the same bush. I started to take a few shots of them when this other guy who had been up the road watching them came over to talk to Alan. He must have seen me with my camera sticking out of the car window trying to take some pictures, but it didn't stop him talking in a loud voice, loud enough to make the Waxwings move on.
The Waxwings had also been feeding on the apples on the ground on the corner of Pout Road.
Below is a couple of photo's that I did manage to take. I decided to post them as a record of my sighting, .
It was good to see you again Alan.
